Are you God’s Valentine? Part-1

How did God express His love toward us?  (revised 2/5/10)

God expressed His love towards us by allowing His only Son to die on the cross conquering death three days later and then resurrected (the shedding of blood by Jesus is represented by the lamb that was killed in the days of old). (Romans 5:8, 9 “8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” We escape the second death, when Satan, his demons and those that reject God are placed into the lake of fire for the final death (Revelation 20:10-15 “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever. 1- And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12- And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before god; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books according to their works. 13- And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works 14- And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15- And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”)

By sending His only Son to us and lowering Him below the angels, He paid or our sins.  (Hebrews 2:7 “Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of they hands.”)  Jesus conquering death is the final expression of love.  Through His resurrection we are alive and escape the second death when Satan and his demons are finally locked up (John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”)
